A fun speaking and listening game, for back to school, or any time, to get children into the swing of learning and concentrating again. A bumper pack of 120 flash cards showing catch phrases or sayings. Some children will be familiar with and others they may need to research or try to work out. There are 2 colour flashcards to a page. There is an answer grid that covers all the pictures and a blank grid for children to write in. There are also a set of worksheets where the cards are split up into sets of A to J, with 12 pictures per page and space underneath for them to write the answers in. A great speaking and listening activity where children can discuss with their partners or small groups and come up with likely answers. There may be more than one answer that is appropriate. May be useful, too for those learning English.

This activity has 30 black and white cartoon cards. The first page is an example of 6 pictures that have been given a title and coloured in. Cut out the black and white pictures and ask the children in pairs or groups to come up with a title for each picture. This makes for a fun speaking and listening activity and for children to be creative in their writing. Children could colour and share their cartoon pictures explaining them to the rest of the class. They could write a caption / sentence or paragraph to describe their picture. There is a blank template at the end for you or the children to use to make more drawings or cartoons of your own. This activity is great too, for those learning English!

This activity can be shown on the whiteboard and children each given an answer sheet to mark off the missing words as they come to them. Alternatively, each of the 10 worksheets can be used on their own. Children complete the sentence with a missing word. The missing words are sometimes repeated such as ‘water’ and ‘chocolate’ but the containers or descriptions are different e.g. a bar of chocolate a box of chocolates This is a good speaking and listening activity and useful for those learning English.
